Our History
Three Decades of Compassionate Care
Founded in March 1993 by a team of professionals united by a common belief, what began as a single facility in West Los Angeles has grown into a multi-facility organization serving youth across Southern California.
Our founders immersed themselves in research on best practices for youth residential treatment, drawing on cognitive behavioral theory, trauma-informed care principles, and the latest evidence in adolescent development. These foundations continue to guide our programming today.
In 2025, we opened New Concept II in Inglewood, our fourth licensed facility, further strengthening our capacity to serve youth across Los Angeles County.
Our Philosophy
What We Believe
- Every young person has inherent worth and the capacity for change
- Families are essential partners in the healing process
- Structure and safety are the foundation of growth
- Evidence-based, individualized care produces the best outcomes
- Community involvement multiplies our impact
Our Team
The People Behind the Program
Our staff are more than caregivers, they are mentors. Each team member is trained not only to provide structure and supervision, but to model the positive behaviors and attitudes we hope our youth will adopt. We are devoted to developing and maintaining genuine, trusting relationships with every resident.
Ongoing training in trauma-informed practices, de-escalation techniques, and cognitive behavioral strategies ensures our staff are always equipped to meet the complex needs of the youth in our care. We maintain low staff-to-resident ratios to ensure every young person receives the individual attention they deserve.
